M7TDX series motherboard use Intel 845 Chipset as MCH (Memory Controller Hub). Based on Intel 845 Chipset specification, 845 Chipset only able to support AGP 4X mode. The main different between AGP 1X, 2X, and 4X is the VGA operating voltage. AGP 4X Is using 1.5V and AGP2X/1X are using 3.3V. The 845 chipset will be damaged If AGP2X VGA card Is used. Biostar have added a protection circuit to prevent the MCH to be burned out when installing an AGP .
