1. Prepare RAID Drivers
Before create Raid, preparing a formatted floppy disk with essential Raid driver is necessary.
All drivers you can get from Biostar Driver CD.
Under Windows,
Clicking “My Computer”, click right button on DVD-Rom and click “Open”
If your DVD-Rom device is E
For Win XP, the path is E:\Driver\Chipset\ATI\SB600_RAID_F6\XP
For Win Vista 32 bits, the path is E:\Driver\Chipset\ATI\SB600_RAID_F6\VISTA\x86
For Win Vista 64 bits, the path is E:\Driver\Chipset\ATI\SB600_RAID_F6\VISTA\x64
For Win 2003, the path is E:\Driver\Chipset\ATI\SB600_RAID_F6\2003
Each folder above, you can find “copytoa” execute file. Under windows, inserting a formatted disk, and click “copytoa”, it will copy all RAID drivers to the floppy disk.
2. Procedures during Win XP installation
When seeing the message below on the screen, be sure press “F6” for loading RAID drivers
Waiting for a while, until seeing the screen below
Insert the RAID Floppy Driver Disk before press “S” to load RAID Drivers
Install Win XP Home or Professional Edition, Choose “ATI AHCI Compatible RAID Controller-x86 platform”
Install Win XP 64bits Edition, Choose “ATI AHCI Compatible RAID Controller-x64 platform”
All drivers have been loaded after seeing the screen below.
Press Enter to continue
The following procedures are the same as normal Win XP installation
3. Procedures during Win Vista installation
Insert a storage device with the Vista RAID drivers
When seeing the screen below, click “Load Driver”
Press “OK”
Point out the storage device, and see the drivers on the list
Press “Next” to load the drivers
After loading the RAID driver, the array can be seen on the list
The following procedures are normal Win Vista installation.
